Spirits 2000
also has a Shelf Restocking program. Very simply,
it helps you keep your shelf full. SHELF CAPACITY
and SHELF RESTOCK POINT are levels you
set to determine how much you can physically hold
in that location and at what level do you want
to move inventory from the backroom to the shelf.
It's really a very simple concept but it can help
you in many ways.

|
|
You
can restock by the bottle, case or half
case. Some retailers don't want loose bottles
in the backroom. Others say it's okay to
move bottles but only by the half case.
This way as you are walking around the backroom,
it's easy to see that 12 is half of 24,
6 is half of 12, 3 is half of 6. You can
easily spot a missing bottle and investigate
why it's missing. Your customers don't have
access to your backroom! |

During the holidays,
you don't want to have "holes" on the shelf.
The store is busy and customers don't always
have the time to wait around and ask for
the product they are looking for. You can
print an "emergency" Restock Report showing
the items that have one or less on the shelf.
These are the items that need to be restocked
immediately! |

|
The Restock Report
tells you to move 6 bottles from the backroom
and when you do so, you only find 5 bottles.
It alerts you to either an honest mistake
or you now have something to investigate
further. |

There are always
those times when a clerk has some time left
to his shift and perhaps the store is not
so busy. You can print a Restock Report
and make good use of his time. |
